The Champaign Public Library recently announced a new policy that requires members of the Tolono and Mahomet Library Districts to buy a non-resident Champaign card for $200 annually, in order to checkout materials from the Champaign Public Library. The new policy is effective November 1, 2010. Residents of the Tolono and Mahomet Library Districts will not be able to get materials from the Champaign Public Library including interlibrary loan without the non-resident card. We want our Tolono Library patrons to know that we continue to evaluate library services. Recently we have expanded hours, launched a Blu-ray collection and added online resources. The Tolono Public Library continues to have access to materials through interlibrary loans from over 125 libraries in the Lincoln Trails System. ON DEMAND
Tolono Public Library is now offering a selection of popular books and DVDs for a small fee. The “On Demand” materials are duplicates of titles already available in the regular TPL collection. The number of rental titles will grow depending upon popularity and funding. Because of the limited items available, patrons are limited to one “On Demand” book and one DVD per cardholder.
On Demand Fees
• Books: $1.00 for one week
• DVDs: $1.00 for two days NO RENEWALS and NO REQUESTS (Late fees are $0.50/day for books and $1.00/day for DVDs)
How do I check out and pay for “On Demand” materials?
“On Demand” items are only available for check out and return at Tolono Public Library, and rental fees can only be paid at Tolono upon checkout. Be sure to return these items to Tolono Public Library, NOT to drop boxes or other Lincoln Trail Libraries; this ensures items are immediately available to our other patrons. CASH OR CHECK ONLY.
