ABOUT THE LIBRARY

»» Library History

The Tolono Public Library District serves the communities of Sadorus, Savoy and Tolono. The 7,500 sq. ft. library was built in 1997. The new library building was made possible by the bequests of Margaret Roy and Mary Quinn along with a "Live and Learn" construction grant.

The Library Board consists of seven members, residents of the district boundaries and registered voters, who are duly elected at regular consolidated elections in April of odd-numbered years. A Board member's term of office is four years.

A library card is available to any Library District resident five years of age or older.
Proof of residency must be presented when obtaining a new card. Families living outside
the library district and residing in the Unit 7 school district may join the district for an annual fee of $55 per year.

Many materials may be renewed over the phone, as long as there is no waiting list for that particular item. To renew materials, call the library at 485-5558 or go to Online Catalog.
