The library offers a variety of workshops, events and programs that are open to the public. We try to offer valuable programs, at no cost to our patrons and the surrounding communities. We offer our online calendar, printed calendars at the library and a variety of media sources,such as weekly articles in the County Star and postings on Chambanamoms.com to keep you aware of all the events and happenings at the Tolono Library. Summer Reading Kick-off Party: Saturday, June 8 (afternoon) We are excited to announce that we have scheduled the "Bubble Guy" for this year's kick-off party.

BUBBLEWONDERS2pm on Saturday, June 8 —Author, Speaker, International Bubble Artist, Geoffrey "Merlin" Akins, creates moments of wonder and awe during his captivating and hilarious Bubble Wonders performance. Audiences watch spellbound as Akins does the most amazing things with ordinary soap bubbles. He makes huge, wobbly Dancing Bubbles, blows bubbles inside bubbles, and creates intricate sculptures like Bubble Caterpillars, Ice Cream Cones, Snowman, fog-filled Volcano Bubbles, the impossible Square Bubble and a fully functional Bubble Merry-Go-Round. Why he can even place a child inside a bubble! Kids all ages will laugh as they learn all about the Art and Science of Bubbleology. Adventures in Art--
(Flower Art)--Tuesday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m.View artwork featuring flowers and then draw a floral still life and make art by pounding flowers onto cloth. Recommended for ages 6-12.

e-Clinic Sunday, May 5 at 2pm Learn the basics of downloading e-books to your mobile device (iPad, tablet, Nook, Kindle, ect) and also learn some helpful hints on how to use the new SHARE-Polaris catalog. Tolono Public Library District Board will meet Tuesday, May 7 at 6:00pm
Between the Lines Book Club will meet on Sunday, May 19 at 2pm. We will discuss "Three Graves Full"
. For fans of the Coen brothers' films or for those who just love their thrillers with a dash of sharp humor--an engaging and offbeat story about a man driven to murder, who then buries the body in his backyard only to discover that there are two other shallow graves on his property

Children practiced reading to trained therapy dogs. The coordinators of this event are part of the Dog Training Club of Champaign-Urbana. Their dogs are registered "therapy dogs" through the Delta Society. Check out our on-line calendar for future visits!
