Tax Assistance:
Beginning on Friday, February 10th, 2012, free tax assistance will be available at the Tolono Public Library. Assistance is available to taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those ages 60 and older. Volunteers have been trained through the AARP Tax-Aide program in cooperation with the IRS and will provide this confidential tax preparation service at no charge. Assistance is by appointment only and will take place in the library. This service will continue through April 13th. The volunteer will be here every Friday through the end of tax season; if he has appointments scheduled. Persons interested in receiving free tax assistance should call the library at 217-485-5558 to schedule an appointment. Please bring last year’s income tax forms and all supporting documentation. The volunteers will not complete business or farm returns.
The TPL also has some Tax forms and booklets available. If you need additional forms you may sign on to one of the public use computers and print forms as needed (15 cents a sheet). For Federal forms please visit http://www.irs.gov/ and for Illinois state forms visit http://www.revenue.state.il.us/.
Note to patrons: Due to the new CU Catalog system, Tolono items returned to Champaign or Urbana cannot be checked in and off your record until they reach Tolono Library. This may result in accrued fines on your account. Please drop your Tolono material either at the Tolono Public Library or one of our drop box locations.

Update...
Music database--We apologize for the delay with this database. We have been informed by the distributing company there are still a few "technical issues" with the mobile app. This is a brand new product being offered to libraries, so they want to ensure full functionality of the product when it launches. We hope to offer it to our patrons sometime this month! Tolono Public Library patrons will have free access to Rdio (pronounced ar-dee-o). With Rdio's mobile apps, music on your computer and mobile phone is finally connected without needing a cable. Collections and playlists are instantly updated and you can sync music and listen, even when you're offline. Find it on our website soon!
