Need a good read?

Look no further than the Tolono Public Library's BookLetters service. Customize your own set of newsletters to be conveniently delivered to your email (typically once a month). These e-newsletter offer our readers advisory service on books, authors and what's happening at the library. By clicking on the Newsletter Sign up link above, you can choose to receive a variety of e-mail newsletters. Preview some of the newsletters by clicking on the book cover images on the left of this page. All of these features are linked to the library catalog, so reserving the book is a snap.

Renewals/Request/Search

Many materials may be renewed over the phone,

as long as there is no waiting list for that particular item. To renew materials, call the library at 485-5558 or go to Online Catalog. The library offers a diverse collection, including reference material, fiction, non-fiction, periodicals, videos, CDs, and audio books. Patrons may view their library record as well as place requests on-line. Go to our Online Catalog to get started!  For requests outside the Illinois Heartland Library System catalog, (WorldCat) please contact Helen Neal hneal@tolonolibrary.org.

Computers

The Library offers six computers for internet/e-mail use to the patrons in fifteen minute increments for up to 2 hours of use per day.  Patrons may print black and white copies for $0.15.   Free WIFI is also available, just ask for the password at the front desk.  Additional computers are available for games, patron's search and word processing applications.

Need some help with computers or looking for assistance in how to download media/e-books/magazines to your iPad or other device?  We are here to help.  Call 485-5558 or email Tricia Althaus, Library Technology Coordinator to schedule an appointment.

Copies & Fax

A copy machine is available for public use. Copying costs are
$0.15 for black and white or $0.50 for color (currently color copies are not available). A fax machine is available for you to send and receive faxes. Fax charges are
$1.00 per page to send and $0.50 per page to receive. The library staff will be happy to assist you.

Meeting Room

As a service to the community, the Tolono Public Library District offers a meeting room. This room is available at no charge to groups wishing to present programs or to hold meetings which serve the community's needs for education, information, and cultural enrichment. Pick up an application at the library or click here to view meeting room policies or to download an online application for use of the room.  Please call 485-5558 with any questions.
